Named for Karen’s latest bestselling book (Karen Brooks is Co-Owner along with Steve, and also the distiller’s mother), this liqueur took inspiration from a time when whisky only vaguely resembled the drink we enjoy today, produced in secret, secluded locations in the Scottish Highlands to avoid the authorities, smuggling was the lifeblood of many communities.
Small batch whisky with additions of dates, raisins, liquorice root, cocoa nibs, saffron, cinnamon, cubeb pepper, mace, allspice and more. The flavours are all delicately woven together with generous but balanced sweetness to make this a fantastic way to cap off an evening. Perhaps alongside a book you’ve just read about.
